Located at City Walk  Dubai, your kids are in  for a day in the jungle.  There are six zones to explore,  each looking at different elements  of the environment, ways of conserving the environment and what makes up the ecosystem of a forest. With more than 3,000 species of plants and animals, your little ones can get up-close with nature in a child-friendly atmosphere. Tickets are Dh95 for adults and Dh70 for children from 3 to 12. Green Planet is open Saturday-Wednesday from 10am to 10pm, and until midnight on Thursday and Friday.

2. Al Ain Zoo

Located in the foothills of Jebel Hafeet and with more than 400 acres of land to explore, Al Ain Zoo offers a one-of-a-kind journey for your children to interact with wildlife. Run by all-Emirati staff, the zoo aims to reflect the passionate heritage of the UAE towards its nature and wildlife. Your children can meet a family of giraffes, feed budgies and learn about the importance of conservation through a series of specially-tailored activities. They can also take part in the first-of-its-kind African Safari. Baby hippo training, parrot shows, falcon hunting and a sunset safari drive are the perfect combination for your children to experience what Mother Nature has to offer. Ticket prices vary depending on the package you select but they start at Dh50 for adults and Dh20 for children.

Connect with the Arctic’s most adorable creatures, penguins! Ski Dubai’s penguin encounter will give your little ones the opportunity to do so while enjoying a cup of hot chocolate in a -4C zone. This package costs Dh235 for adults and children.

4. Dubai  Butterfly  Garden

What better way to bond with nature than through this vibrant butterfly garden. It’s home to more than 4,000 types of butterfly, all located in a cool indoor environment. The spacious garden is surrounded by plants to provide a positive experience for children. You and your kids can enjoy bonding with a blue morpho or black Papillon and many more. The sounds of the indoor waterfall and birds echo throughout the butterfly domes. Young visitors can see the butterflies in their natural environment feeding on fruit and nectar. They can also learn about the different types of butterflies there are at the museum. The garden is open daily from 9am to 6pm and tickets are Dh50 per person, children under 3 enter for free.

Emirates Park Zoo

5. Emirates Park Zoo

Featuring more than 1,700 animals both exotic and national, Emirates Park Zoo provides a hands-on experience to interact with nature’s majestic animals. Located in Abu Dhabi next to the Abu Dhabi Resort, your children can enjoy meeting and feeding an elephant and a family of giraffes. The zoo also has a bird sanctuary where you can hold the birds and admire their beautiful colours. Tickets are Dh30 for adults, Dh20 for children and free for children under six. The park is open from 9am to 8pm on weekdays and until 9pm during the weekend.

6. Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo

Children can enjoy treasures of the ocean in a massive aquarium and an indoor sea-world tour. Watch sharks and stingrays being fed or feed them yourself. After viewing the aquarium, inside the zoo are numerous sea creatures, including penguins, otters and prickly fish. Your children can also learn about different types of coral and the way the underwater habitat works. Tickets start at Dh100, each attraction has a separate price – children under three enter for free.

7. Unseen Trails

Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve is Dubai’s largest protected national park. This trip with Unseen Trails is sure to create incredible memories for your children through its beautiful desert landscape. The morning to evening trip starts off with a home-made breakfast, then you’re off to see falcons, desert plants and the ghaf tree, widely considered the national tree of the UAE.
